Riad Mouna Review

Riad Mouna

Riad Mouna, a humble yet alluring riad in the heart of Jemaa el-Fnaa. I grew a love for this riad as I stayed there the two times I visited Marrakech. The riad is no La Mamounia or El Fenn but it has the greatest perk of being located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the red city. And it’s a beautiful and traditional riad with a loving staff. You can’t go wrong with that.

The first time I stayed at Riad Mouna, I stayed in a room that only had indoor windows. If I’m not mistaking, there’s only one room that overlooks the riad’s entrance; that’s the second room I stayed in. I must say that although the room was smaller than the others, I appreciated it more because I would always wake up to the call of prayer. If you’re a heavy sleeper, you might just wake up to the sounds of little kids playing against the pink alleyway. You can see the window in the picture above.

Pricing:

The pricing varies from $65 to $105. It’s not bad at all compared to bigger places that cost $500 a night. This is very affordable for where it’s located.

Perks:

A great thing about Riad Mouna is that you won’t have to spend extra for breakfast as it’s included. Just go up to the terasse before 10 AM and take in the warm sun while you wait for the lovely staff to serve. Both times I was there, they served hard boiled eggs, bananas, orange juice, mint tea, and a variety of Moroccan breads. I loved it both times.

Aside from included breakfast, the riad also has a hammam and a spa room. Since I didn’t partake in these activities, I wouldn’t be able to spill details on the price or quality. But it’s good to have in your riad, no?

Another perk is that all of the rooms have safes with combinations so you can store your important items.
